A new year is oftentimes an opportunity for a fresh start, and a time to set resolutions or goals. In Community Education, we pride ourselves on doing the research and listening to our community to understand what the current trends are and how our program can offer our residents the chance to learn and grow with the rest of our world. A handful of our new and “trending” class topics include: • Finding Investment Opportunities in Today’s Market Aquatics - pools and swimming classes 763-506-5980 • Do-Ahead Entertaining Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) 763-506-1275 • Public Speaking for Everyday Business Facility rentals 763-506-1267 • Indoor Golf Lessons Home school/non-public school 763-506-1273 Metro North Adult Basic Education (ABE) 763-783-4870 Parent Involvement/Volunteer Services 763-506-1278 School Readiness Preschool 763-506-1500 Tutoring 763-506-1265 Youth development and service 763-506-1263 Youth programs - Community Schools 763-506-1260 • B eginners Guide to Social Media; Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest 101 • Adult Coloring Books Another trend that we have been studying is the demographics of our country, state and our local community. It’s not a surprise that many “boomers” are entering a new chapter in life: retirement. In addition, we understand that not every adult works a nine-to-five schedule. In an effort to provide more opportunities to serve our whole community, we have scheduled a handful of daytime classes this winter. We look forward to seeing how these new offerings meet the needs of our participants. We always strive to try something new in our class offerings and our schedules, we also encourage you to try something new this year– whether it’s signing up for a class with us for the first time ever, or registering for something that you have never tried before. Don’t forget to continue bringing your feedback to us throughout the year, as well. You may reach us through social media, email, phone or in person. We value your insights and are honored to support our community in the pursuit of lifelong learning. Happy new year!
