Summer camps, classes and
activities for youth
Driver education classes
All-day options, including a lunch bunch program,
give kids the opportunity to enjoy a supervised
lunch and fun activities between morning and
afternoon programs. Anoka-Hennepin Community Education has
partnered with Safeway Driving School to provide
an additional opportunity for high school students
to complete their classroom and behind-the-wheel
instruction outside of the traditional school day.
Anoka-Hennepin Community Education
offers enrichment opportunities for children
in preschool-grade 8 Driver education classes are open to teens ages
15 and up, and will be held at Andover, Blaine
and Coon Rapids high schools this spring with
additional classes offered in July and August.
Summer is a great time to meet friends, learn new
things and build on academic skills in preparation
for the upcoming school year. Community
Education offers fun youth activities and learning
opportunities:

usic and theater

• Classroom sessions prepare students for the
Minnesota driver’s permit test and becoming a
responsible driver.
• Behind-the-wheel includes six hours of driving
in three, two-hour sessions on actual city streets,
highways and freeways.
• Instructors are licensed by the Minnesota
Department of Public Safety and complete a
background check each year. Instructors have
experience teaching teens and receive extensive
training.
