I have had the opportunity to serve lifelong learners through community education
programs in several Twin Cities metro area school districts for over 24 years, and
now I am excited to join the team in Anoka-Hennepin Schools.
I first worked with Anoka-Hennepin Community Education staff nearly 20 years
ago, when seven metro area school districts worked together to develop tools to
more effectively evaluate the quality of programs. The work we completed then
earned a statewide project award and still impacts our work today – bringing
high-quality educational opportunities to our community. Our collaborative work
continued over the years and I have worked with A-H staff to advocate for our
learners and programs at the legislature, and to establish and share best practices
in our programs to benefit early learners, school-age youth and adults across the
state of Minnesota.
It is clear that as community educators, we all have something in common:
Working to serve our learners, and to help build stronger communities through
the programs we deliver and the relationships that are built. I look forward to
working with this team to support the educational needs of our participants, and
to continue to offer this community new, innovative opportunities through our
programs, activities and classes.
Thank you for your continued support of community education. I hope to meet
and see you in our classes.
