Mixed Media with MaryLeah
Norwegian Rosemaling-Spring Design
Educator and artist, Marshall, will help you explore and develop
your art skills in a relaxed and inclusive atmosphere. Introduce
yourself to the creativity and variety of mixed media. Create works
of art that combine traditional art forms such as drawing, painting,
collage, print making and more - resulting in unique individual
works of art. Supply fee of $10 paid to instructor at class; see
website for supply list. Class fee: $75.
Norwegian rosemaling is the art of applying paint to a specific
object using “S” and “C” scrolls. After learning some of the history
and basic techniques, you will have ample opportunities to practice
decorative brush strokes in class. Then, you will create your own
spring rosemaling design! Open to mixed abilities; project adapted
to your level. All supplies provided. Class fee: $59.

Mosaic Birdbath
Make a birdbath using a terracotta tray and mosaic tiles. The
birdbath is both functional and a beautiful, artistic garden accent.
Optional wrought iron stand can be purchased in local home
improvement stores. Wear old clothes. Bring an ice cream bucket
and small disposable plastic bowl to class. Supply fee of $25 cash
paid to instructor at class. Class fee: $25.

Mosaic Gazing Ball or Stepping Stone
Combine the creativity of ancient mosaic design with the new
and easy glass mosaic method to create a beautiful gazing ball
or stepping stone for your garden. The gazing ball uses your old
bowling ball as a base and the stepping stone is a pre-cast cement
paver. Patterns provided. Specify gazing ball or stepping stone
when registering. Bring your own bowling ball to first class. Wear
old clothes. Bring terry towels and a pint size jar on the second
evening. Supply fee of $23 for gazing ball or $20 for stepping
stone paid to instructor at class. Class fee: $35.

Owl Sculpture
This friendly watchful owl will be a great addition to your garden
or porch. Form your owl from cement the first night and paint
him with whitewash paint the second night. Finished owl stands
approximately 14 in. in height and weighs approximately 20 lbs.
Makes a unique gift. Dress for a mess both nights. Class held at
Garden Treasures in Anoka. All supplies provided. Class fee: $45.
