You ’ ll follow the trail of prehistoric standing stones , Armenia ’ s Stonehenge , marching across the mountaintop , visit a pagan temple complex , and a monastery carved into a mountain with holy water seeping through its rocky walls . Finally you ’ ll learn the truth about the holocaust perpetrated by the Ottoman Turks in 1915 in which 1.5 million Armenians lost their lives .

Appraise Your Antiques
Learn the basics of identifying and appraising art , antiques , jewelry , coins , and collectibles . Get tips on what makes things valuable and the best ways to sell them . Examine things like lithophane , trench art , U . S . Zone china , a U . S . 3 cent nickel , precious gemstones , mourning jewelry and German silver . No pictures or books in this class , everything is “ hands-on ”. Bring one item , no larger than a shoe box to the first class , research its value on your own with the research tools you ’ ve been given , then compare your results with the appraisers at the second class . Bring a magnifying glass . Instructor David Schlueter is a Certified Appraiser .

Appraise Your Coin Collection
Learn the basics of researching and appraising your U . S . and foreign coins and currency . Examine over 200 year old U . S . and foreign coins . Gain knowledge about the ins and outs of where to buy and sell coins , coin authentication and much more . Students will be asked to do internet and book research on their coins and share what they have learned in the second class . This class is not intended for experienced coin buffs , but all are welcome .

This online class will provide information about what kind of items will likely have the highest return potential value , where to find these items , how to protect and store these items from degradation , and selling and marketing these items . Some categories discussed will be coin collecting , stamp collecting , antiques , collecting miniatures , miscellaneous memorabilia items collecting , buying and restoring antiques and other furniture . The instructor has been involved in collecting many different things during his lifetime , some have been a crash and burn experiment in which have lost money . He will share what he knows from personal experience to help prevent other people from taking a financial hit on their hobbies , interests , and collections .
