Our Mission | The Anoka-Hennepin School District Community Education Department is dedicated to lifelong learning , involving people and enriching communities .

Hello and Welcome !

As the new director of Anoka-Hennepin Community Education , I am excited to share my enthusiasm for lifelong learning . A resident of the Anoka-Hennepin school district , I have worked in Community Education for more than 20 years , most recently as the Early Childhood Program Manager . It is with great pleasure that I broaden my focus to support learners of all ages .
The last few years have been challenging , but it ’ s time for new beginnings . We are committed to finding a place for YOU in Community Education . If you ’ re already a fan , we hope you will continue to take advantage of the many classes , services , tours , programs , outreach activities and athletics that are available to you through Community Ed . If you ’ ve never checked out an adult learning class or activity , now ’ s your chance ! Our program offerings are a great way to meet new people who live and work in your community . As an adult learner , you have many options to choose from . Try a photography or dance class . What about cooking or technology ? Maybe lap swimming is more to your liking . You can even sign up to take a bus tour or create a beautiful work of art .
As you ’ re browsing the catalog , we ’ d also love to hear any ideas you have for new topics . Please contact our office with class suggestions and let us know if you are interested in sharing your expertise and maybe even teaching !
Again , I am thrilled to be taking on this new role within a department that continues to be dedicated to lifelong learning , involving people and enriching communities . Take a few minutes to look at the many opportunities Community Education offers . Try something new , and please let us know what you think . We are glad YOU are here and look forward to seeing you in an upcoming class or activity .
