Our Mission | The Anoka-Hennepin School District Community Education Department is dedicated to lifelong learning , involving people and enriching communities .
Welcome back lifelong learners .
We are excited to once again offer opportunities for community members to come together and learn new skills while connecting in person . Our lineup of adult classes offers something for everyone . From technology and travel , to fine arts and food — we ’ ve got it covered ! In addition , we have listened to you . We understand that some of you like the online format and may be more comfortable staying remote . While this works better for some classes than others , we will continue to offer online opportunities in some categories . Look for the little computer screen icon next to class descriptions . Whether it ’ s yoga , photography or finance , remember , it ’ s important to make time for you !
Spend more , receive extra !
Watch for our special promotion coming later this fall . We will once again be offering adult learning gift certificates the weekend after Thanksgiving . These certificates make the perfect gift for hard-to-shop-for friends and family members . You may even want to take advantage of the deal and treat yourself to the classes you ’ ve always wanted !
Strong schools , strong communities
This fall , Anoka-Hennepin voters will consider three levy questions which will provide resources for all district students . The School Board unanimously approved a resolution at their June 28 meeting to place the levy request on the November 2 ballot .
• The first question will ask voters to renew an operating levy which provides stability by maintaining current school district programs , services and class size .
• The second question will ask voters to renew a capital projects levy which provides technology support , tools and resources in Anoka- Hennepin classrooms for all students .
If both of these questions are approved , community members will see no property tax increase .
• The third question on the ballot proposes an operating levy that would improve and extend mental health and social-emotional support for students , and academic interventions and support for underachieving students . Approval is contingent upon the renewal of the operating levy in question one .
The tax impact of question three is approximately $ 10 / month for a homeowner with a $ 250,000 home . We want to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to make their voice heard . Visit ahschools . us to learn more about the impact on our schools and our communities , details about information sessions that voters may attend this fall , and voting information . We appreciate your continued support of our programs and our schools .
