Understanding Estate Planning & Trusts
Planning for retirement today can pose unique challenges and
requires a well-planned strategy. Discuss: How do I efficiently use
my savings? How do I plan for inflation risk, market volatility and
unexpected life events? Leave class with a retirement income
distribution framework that accounts for your time horizon, needs
and goals. Class fee: $19 one; $25 two.
If you own a business; have a cabin, condo or timeshare in another
state; have minor children; want to avoid probate or protect assets
for future generations, a trust may be a great estate planning tool
for you. Several types of trusts-Revocable Living Trusts, Irrevocable
Trusts and Support Trusts for children/grandchildren-will be
discussed. Question and answer time included. Instructor is an

Understanding Medicare
Learn how and when to enroll in Medicare, what is covered by
the different parts of Medicare and supplement options. Discuss
the ‘donut hole,’ prescription drug coverage and ways to avoid
Medicare fraud. Take home the booklet, Health Care Choices,
published by the Minnesota Board on Aging. Instructor is a
volunteer from the Metropolitan Area Agency on Aging.

Write Your Will
Prepare a professional will in class on the computer and learn
about estate planning. Students should be comfortable using a
computer, as work will be completed in a computer lab. Some
prep work required; packet sent one week prior to class. This is
a simple will class, not appropriate for those who have assets in
excess of one million dollars or who need a trust. Instructor is
an experienced estate planning attorney. Couples must register
individually. Class fee: $99.
