Learn what it means to volunteer so you can make a difference in the world. Engage in meaningful discussions with others as Tiffany Ostrom from the Metropolitan Center for Independent Living (MCIL) helps you explore topics like how to become a better community leader, advocate for yourself, and find the perfect volunteer position that suits your interests and abilities. This four- session course is FREE and open to individuals aged 18+ with disabilities who are eager to make an impact in their community. Receive the tools needed to become a dynamic volunteer! You’ll pick 2 apples and be able to choose your own small pumpkin, plus sample apple cider. On this private tour, you will learn how to pick apples, why bees are important, and what the orchard staff does to protect their trees. Dress for the weather. This tour is not wheelchair accessible. You’ll practice greeting “customers” (your fellow classmates), taking a drink order, and making a fancy soda or coffee drink. In addition, you’ll learn helpful customer service tips and participate in a few get-to-know-you games while you enjoy the drink of your choice!
