EMC Helps Minimize Workplace Injuries
Workplace accidents don’t
just happen in industrial
or hazardous workplace
environments. Office
workers lifting boxes or
sitting incorrectly for long periods of time can result in a workers’
compensation claim that can cost tens of thousands of dollars. EMC’s
Select Care Provider and Return to Work programs can help get
injured employees back to work quickly and safely.
Select Care Provider
With Select Care Provider, employers in the state of Iowa can direct
where injured employees go to seek medical care. This helps to
ensure a consistent approach when assisting employers with specific
medical needs. The select provider can be informed about the hazards
involved with the work environments and the types of injuries that can
occur. This program also enables an employer to have a response
plan in place in the event of an injury.
Return to Work
The Return to Work program assists employees whose injuries are
severe enough that they cannot meet the physical demands of their

jobs. However, this does not mean that they cannot do
any work. The goal of a return to work program is to
help employers designate tasks and jobs that injured
employees can complete while they are recuperating.
Preventing Injuries
Although EMC developed the Select Provider and Return
to Work programs to help employers with recovery needs
after a claim, you can take action before an incident
occurs with a vigilant work place safety and loss control
program. As an insurer, one of EMC’s goals is to point out
hazardous situations and offer solutions to minimize the
potential for injury, helping to keep your business running
smoothly and better manage rising medical costs.
Community Bankers of Iowa appreciates the longtime
