How successful we are in sustaining those changes is “iffy” at best and New Year’s resolutions all too often fall by the wayside. Notwithstanding that pattern, I would like to suggest for your consideration, the following 2014 resolutions. 1. Resolve to give something back to your industry. Whether you join a committee, volunteer for the board of directors, or just attend a networking meeting that you haven’t attended in the past. Connect with your industry. 2. Resolve to make sure that your legislators know and appreciate how your bank is affected by Washington’s actions, good, bad or indifferent. Communicate with your representatives at least quarterly.
