Mrs. Anita Jones' official title is "Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper" for Georgia College's University Housing. I have known and worked with Mrs. Anita for almost three years now, and I truly feeling that her efforts are essential to University Housing. Community Advisors at Georgia College look to Mrs. Anita for assistance with petty cash, used mainly for programs, but also for other spending which benefits residents. I don't know what all goes into coordinating petty cash pick up, tracking, distribution, and balancing, but I can imagine that dealing with finances at a public college is sometimes very stressful. I have nominated Mrs. Anita Jones for the month of October because this month, specifically, she encountered some challenges regarding petty cash, unrelated to anything she did or didn't do; there was a delay on a reimbursement check she submitted for, and as a result, some individuals were unable to access the petty cash they requested during the time they requested, or were unable to pick up the full amount they submitted for. Mrs. Anita promptly contacted University Housing via email to inform them of this situation, and she even extended petty cash pick up hours to accommodate those who requested money once the funds were received. This is not the first time Mrs. Anita has sacrificed for the whole of University Housing; I would argue that she makes personal sacrifices daily at work. Truth be told, Community Advisors don't always follow petty cash procedures exactly or consistently. Still, Mrs. Anita treats those she works with professionally, and with incredible patience and understanding.
