Modern analysis of communication factors:
The School of Palo Alto, the hermeneutics and the social theory of the communicative action of Jurgen Habermas have deeply studied the implications of communication theory in human societies and the many difficulties that hinder it. Unresolved discrepancies in the score of the communicational sequences can lead to interactional impasses, in which the participants make mutual accusations of madness or evil. The scoring discrepancies take place in all those cases in which at least one of the communicants does not have the same amount of information as the other, but does not know it.
These cases of pathological communication constitute vicious circles that can not be broken unless communication itself becomes the subject of communication (metacommunication). But for this they have to be placed outside the circle. In these cases of discrepant score a conflict is observed about what is the cause and what the effect, when in fact none of these concepts is applicable due to the circularity of the interaction.
