Background For over ninety-eight years , we have moved people from crisis to stability while strengthening the systems that provide support to Rhode Islanders . Through research , advocacy , community investment and grantmaking , we are creating a state where everyone can live , learn and thrive . We make it easy for individuals to contribute meaningfully through workplace campaigns and payroll deduction , and we support volunteer projects across the entire state . |
BRAG LINES In 2023 , we connected over 190,000 Rhode Islanders to critical resources like food , housing , health care and job training . In the past four years , we invested more than $ 90.7 million through our Community Impact Fund , 401 Gives , Summer Learning Initiative and our grantmaking endeavors . The VITA free tax preparation program helped put $ 21 million back into the pockets of Rhode Island taxpayers through the Earned Income Tax Credit . We also advocated for historic housing policy improvements . |
