IGT staff celebrate the launch of the digital learning center .
For more than 20 years , IGT has partnered with Progreso Latino , Rhode Island ’ s largest Latino community organization dedicated to providing educational and professional resources to the state ’ s citizens and families . IGT ’ s involvement includes financial , in-kind , and volunteer support , particularly through the company ’ s flagship community initiative , the After School Advantage ( ASA ) Program . As part of IGT ’ s Sustainable Play™ program , ASA strives to provide students access to science , technology , engineering and math educational opportunities in digital learning centers in communities where IGT operates . In 1999 , Progreso Latino was one of the first Rhode Islandbased recipients of an ASA technology lab . This year , IGT renewed its commitment to Progreso Latino ’ s mission through the donation of new technology to marking the 350th ASA computer lab opening . A donation of sixteen Dell desktops , accompanying Microsoft Office licenses , and an ELMO smartboard was made to Progreso Latino to enhance the organization ’ s youth and adult education programs . IGT employees also volunteered their time to set up the new technology and necessary software prior to launch .
Progreso Latino supports Rhode Island ’ s Latino and immigrant communities through a variety of transformational programs designed to build greater self-sufficiency and socio-economic mobility . These programs include adult and early childhood education , senior services , health and wellness , workforce development , immigration and social services , and emergency food relief , among others . IGT is pleased to partner with Progreso Latino to help deliver educational and career development opportunities across the state .
