Any kind of traumatic late flap dislocation post lasic eye surgery must be treated as an ocular emergency. Patients with Traumatic late flap dislocations have higher risk for flap folds, epithelial ingrowth, DLK and infection. In such a condition, the usual procedure is to raise the flap carefully and the interface is carefully examined for any epithelial cells or other debris. The flap and the corneal bed should be adequately scraped before the flap is repositioned. For additional protection, a contact lens can be applied to provide extra protection from further displacement and to protect the flap from eyelid movement. The patient should be adequately informed about such complications before taking consent for carrying out the lasik eye surgery. Patient who are involved in aggressive contact sports or in jobs which require working in dusty environment must be cautioned to take adequate protection to preempt any eye injury after lasik eye surgery new jersey.
