Established in 1864 as Nevada ' s first hospital , we proudly serve our community as the state ' s only not-for-profit , academic health system . Our collective and organizational success is dependent on over 8,000 amazing and talented individuals who have made a commitment to Renown , and who in turn deserve our commitment . Through the establishment of a People First mindset and culture throughout Renown we acknowledge the investment in our community begins with investing in our people - first and foremost .
Renown ' s People First mindset is deeply ingrained in our C . O . R . E . – Culture , Operations , Results and Engagement – and is how we engage our fellow employees , patients , and community partners . Our People First framework enables us to align with Renown ’ s commitment to meet the healthcare needs of our community . Through the tireless dedication of our people , more patients and members are cared for , our region is healthier , and more essential clinical services can be offered close to home – keeping care local in northern Nevada .
