WhatsYourPrice . com pulled user data to determine which men and women have the most traction . Men being photographed wearing a suit and tie are six times more successful in securing a date on the popular site .

Photos are the focal point of an online dating profile and can make the difference between someone clicking on or scrolling past . The right photo can exponentially alter the odds of securing a date . Can a picture be worth a thousand dates ?
Popular dating web site , WhatsYourPrice . com , pulled data from 50,000 of the most popular profiles to find which type of profile picture the most successful members used . Overall , the average male user on the date-auction site goes on five dates in a period of six months . However , the study shows the probability of securing a date increased based on certain profile picture attributes .

Online profile pictures with exotic cars and travel locations are more likely to result in a date .
travel setting ( four times increase in response ); showing off their abs ( four times increase in response ); including a selfie ( four times increase in response ); and pictured with an exotic car ( two times increase in response ).

These profile picture attributes increase the odds of a woman securing a date : wearing a bikini ( 10 times increase in response ); pictured in a travel setting ( eight times increase in response ); with a drink in hand ( eight times increase in response ); selfie ( five times increase in response ); and wearing a dress ( three times increase in response ).
