Honors Program at Gwynedd Mercy University
Initiated in 1995, the Honors Program at Gwynedd Mercy University is open to outstanding
baccalaureate degree students. In addition to study in their major fields, participants
complete a series of enhanced general education courses in the arts and sciences.
These courses, which are interdisciplinary and team taught by faculty specialists, develop
the theme of The Quest for Community and Freedom: The Individual and Society. The
collaborative teaching and learning style, which characterizes these courses, aims at
creating a community of learners who reflect on the values of Western Civilization within
an awareness of the contributions made by other cultures as well.
