Smart public sector UAE Ministry of Economy updates smart data service MJobs app garners strong support The mJobs app, which was launched by Dubai Smart Government Department (DSG) at the end of April, was downloaded by 15,700 users during the first three weeks of its release, with statistics revealing that 67,740 various operations were processed through the app from 18 government entities in the first month. As many as 3,000 people registered through the mJobs app itself, while 12,700 people applied for the announced job vacancies. The mJobs app has many features including: allowing users to view all the job vacancies in the participating government entities as soon as they login. In addition, several channels have been added to give job-seekers easy access to the app including logging in through the job applicant’s Facebook account and the feature of uploading their resumes through Dropbox or Smartphone.  Work is underway to launch a version of the app for Android users shortly. In July, the UAE’s Ministry of Economy announced it had updated the country’s trade figures app up to the end of 2014, as part of its renewed focus on providing smart data services to residents and citizens of the UAE. The trade statistics application can be found on the ministry’s official website (www.economy.ae). The step is in line with the ‘smart’ directives of the UAE leadership that has urged the federal government to further reach out to the public through the regular launch of innovative services and continued updating of various apps and e-services. The trade statistics application is an important tool for individuals, businesses and public institutions for obtaining up-to-date numbers that are crucial to all trade transactions in the current business landscape. 30
