The New Club on Campus - DMC

Digital Media Communications Club (DMC) started during the winter quarter of 2013. Dr. Astrid Sheil, of the Communication Studies Department, was conducting a Public Relations class that was working hands-on with a client.
The client was Dr. Michael Salvador, the Chair of Communication Studies, and his primary request was to turn the Communication Awards Banquet into a symposium on Digital Media Literacy.
The class developed a club out of this request because not only would they receive more funding for the event, but they believed it is something that all students should know and get involved in.
“I think that this club can greatly benefit the communication studies students,” said club secretary and treasurer, Rebecca Sitorus, “It’s a club that can bring students together from different concentrations under the Communication Department with a common interest.”
This club is designed and dedicated to expanding digital media literacy across the CSUSB campus.
Students are encouraged to learn new technology, and strengthen their communication skills.
Although it is a Communication Studies based club, ALL students are welcome to join and be apart of a club on the cutting edge!
