"I would describe myself as a chick that's been through alot and proof that you can do

absolutely anything you put your mind to."

Kevin Murphy (KM) How do you describe yourself in general and how has it affected your fitness journey?

Aja Smithey (AS): I would describe myself as a chick that’s been through a lot and proof that you can do absolutely anything you put your mind to. I know what I want, I try to surround myself with the right people (people with the same drive and more experience than me), I try to always hit the ground running and only look back to reflect and see what changes I need to make in my life.

Pushing hard in the gym allows me to push myself out of my comfort zone and I’ve been able to accomplish more than I’ve ever thought was possible. The exact same goes for my business. I have to get outside of my comfort zone to see things progress. It’s really a scary but accomplished feeling.

KM: What did you think would be the most difficult part of the process of reaching the kind of fitness you have today?

AS: Staying committed to the process. Showing up to every workout, not skipping out and not giving up when I didn’t see any huge changes.
