PREGAME Performing the Anthem are talented singers from Alhambra Theatre & Dining’s cast from the current sold out run of Elf, the Musical. The Alhambra Theatre & Dining celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2017 and continues its run as the longest continuously operated dinner theater in America. The Alhambra fi rst opened in December 1967 and, despite being located “way out by the beach, on a one-lane road called Beach Blvd,” it was immediately cast as cultural destination. Having gone through the ups and downs associated with any city that ebbs and fl ows like Jacksonville, the historic theater was purchased in 2009 by Jacksonville native, Craig Smith and his group of business partners. What started truly as a labor of love to save the theater that formed so many of his childhood memories, The Alhambra now boasts consistently-sold out shows. The Alhambra has hosted acting treasures such as Loretta Swit, Michael Learned, Sally Struthers, Mickey Rooney, and was the site of Betty Grable’s fi nal theatrical performance. The Alhambra also hosts concerts and non-theatrical productions under its Alhambra After Dark series. Guests have enjoyed the likes of Grammy winners like Ambrosia and Shawn Mullins, tribute acts celebrating bands like Fleetwood Mac, The Rat Pack, John Denver, Elvis, the Beatles and Reba. The American fl ags will be held by Season Ticket Members.
