‘African Giant’, the first track on the album perfectly paves way for listeners to familiarize themselves to the rest of the 18 tracks on it. He blends genres to achieve international appeal with a little dose of dancehall in it to spice up the already addictive tracks. What a better way to enjoy the summer with romantic tunes like ‘omo’, ‘secret’ with traces of sexual intensity with your lover. With help from other artistes like Future, Zlatan, M.anifest, Jeremih etc introduces his collaborative side with rich African beats and rhythms. In comparison to Burna boy’s previous album which he described it as a mixtape, this was more personal according to an interview with Billboard magazine. He talks about politics and religion where he touches on corruption. ‘Collateral Damage’ criticizes his people for being too fearful ‘we fear the thing we no see’. Thus, the fear is being transferred to children and the youth. ‘Another Story’ portrays his country being cheated even after independence ‘since 1961 them dey show wayo’. He informs people that he is ready to stand up for himself and his continent with ‘Destiny’ and also motivates the listeners to do same. Enjoy ‘killin dem’ whilst dancing away to worries and the rest of the beautifully composed songs on the album AFRICAN GIANT. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
