The sad reality of
commercial drivers in
Accra

know about it.
That’s if you’re
a
commercial
t r a n s p o r t
commuter
such
as me. I love them
and you must
be
wondering,
‘why?’ Aside the
irregular stops which often result in my time
being wasted; ever noticed that these incidents
usually occur when you’re very much in a hurry
or late for an appointment? The conductor
alias ‘mate’ who has this stench which is
mostly associated to days of existence without
encountering sponge, soap and water; always
gets commuters murmuring. Personally, I think
its disrespectful, offensive and abuse of office for
any mate to smell that way – we are customers
and must be treated with outmost respect.

Saharan West African country. I’m not certain
if it’s called same in other parts of the country
but considering the fact that there’s a pre-
colonial tale of how the name came about, I’m
certain the name can be considered a national
asset much like the Yellow Taxis of New York
or the Black Cabs of London. Whatever it is
we know about trotro doesn’t change how
we feel about it. Sometimes you get to meet
a really ‘cool’ driver with a relatively cool
mate, who enchants you with his personality.
