After Patapaa’s ‘One Corner’ dance
craze earlier this year, “Do the Dance”
appears to be taking over various so-
cial media platforms. The new dance
called ‘banging’ is said to have its origin
from the Katanga Hall of the Kwame
Nkrumah University of Science and
Technology. The new dance which
is gaining grounds on various social
media platforms is being displayed at
almost every social gathering includ-
ing Tertiary and Senior High School
events, weddings, parties and clubs in
Ghana and beyond.
It is simply a
form of jungle matching, but this time
the left leg is made to bang, while the
movement of the body is made to cor-
respond with the swinging of the arms
also from the right high to the lower
left limb or vice versa. The females
also have their own variation but it
is marked with the usual soft bang.
Eddie Khae has deservingly graced
a lot of big stages like the Vodafone
Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) 2018
Celebration concert, Tidal Rave, “Lil
Win and Friends” concert, Roll Kall
and many more. When asked in an
interview on Citi TV, Eddie Khae men-
tioned Sarkodie as his role model and
stated his (Sarkodie) life story has been
a source of motivation for him. He be-
lieves in empowering and supporting
upcoming and young artistes like him
and mentioned Kofi Mole, Tulenke,
Twitch, Kwesi Arthur and basically
the entire Ground Up team as the fu-
ture of the Ghanaian Music industry.
Eddie Khae hopes to be one of the
most successful Ghanaian musi-
cians, selling records and performing
all over the world in the near future.
