After Patapaa’s ‘One Corner’ dance craze earlier this year, “Do the Dance” appears to be taking over various so- cial media platforms. The new dance called ‘banging’ is said to have its origin from the Katanga Hall of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. The new dance which is gaining grounds on various social media platforms is being displayed at almost every social gathering includ- ing Tertiary and Senior High School events, weddings, parties and clubs in Ghana and beyond. It is simply a form of jungle matching, but this time the left leg is made to bang, while the movement of the body is made to cor- respond with the swinging of the arms also from the right high to the lower left limb or vice versa. The females also have their own variation but it is marked with the usual soft bang.
