B.M: In 2008 I was the first guy Charter House called to part take in the Korea Cross Country games and I was discovered in one of my un- cle’s gym in Gbawe, Accra, I trained for it but unfortunately things didn’t go as planned and I’ll say am the first to do a lot of things, to be on the international stage and win Gold medal for Ghana within my category. I do big things unex- pectedly. Man Ghana, I won the ultimate price from the 2010-2018 which was first place. I am the finest and the best personal trainer you can ever get because I believe in results. M.A: Results oriented, huh?! B.M: Yeah, pretty much. M.A: What is Bike Mike currently work- ing on? B.M: There’s a project am working on cur- rently which is called “After the Storm”. It has to do with something that happened in South Africa. I was supposed to compete in this year’s Arnold Classic Competition to defend my title; I came across a lot of issues from the stage, I was crazily prepared and that was one of my best preparation ever, that really hit me which I believe would be my greatest breakthrough for a lot of contract I have been dreaming of all this while. As a body builder if you face any kind of disappointment it takes a lot of time for you to bounce back i.e your dieting, constant training and all that. It became a storm in my life. M.A: It must have been hard for you. B.M: Yeah it was, I would cry hidden in my room but I’m trying to come back, that is it - “AFTER THE STORM” am still Big Mike nothing shakes me. M.A: I must commend you for your bravery. Many don’t bounce back after a fall. At what point did you decide to go into body building? B.M: I grew up in the United Kingdom where I was in all kind of sports back then. I attended Voxhull College in the UK, I enrolled in a lot of courses and discovered “Health & Fitness”. I used to train just to look good and fit, my mom 55| Colossium . August 2018 was even against the courses I enrolled in at col- lege. I did those courses so I could help people with health issues like obesity and the likes of others; and I like to see the changes in people when I train them. M.A: That is to say you are more than a body builder. Health & Fitness in- structor, perhaps? Do you work with celebrities or just about anyone? B.M: I’ve worked with a lot of clients the likes of Athletes, Footballers, Musicians, Actors, these are some few of my clients; the late Cas- tro, Tiffany,4X4, Majid Michel, John Dumelo, Fred Nuamah, Van Vicker, Abeiku Santana, they used to come to the Branche Health & Fit- ness Center for me to train them. With my ca- reer I have met a lot of people and still meeting them, I had the privilege to meet the Ex-Presi- dent H.E John Agyekum Kuffour in his Kumasi residence to talk about fitness. M.A: Let me ask you this. Do you ever feel sick? I mean, you're training every single day. The last time I was here, you were training - today is no differ- ent either. B.M: I feel heathy each and every day of my life, though I get malaria sometimes hahaha. Being a fitness person doesn’t mean you wouldn’t get sick once in a while. However, I feel healthy throughout. M.A: Any expectations when you come to the gym to train? B.M: My Expectations when I hit the gym is to be a better than the previous day, to perform more well in terms of strength, stamina and energy level, I also enjoy being at the gym trying to be me. M.A: What would you say is your great- est achievement so far? B.M: Bike Mike is the current champion now, the best personal trainer around and in Ghana, when you mention Big Mike am everywhere and that is my greatest achievement so far.
