WEb Show Review: Free Fall

Free Fall follows the lives, struggles and triumphs of various black gay men living in Atlanta. This cast of characters includes the main three, X, Cameron and Nico and the people that they are involved with.

First there’s X or Xavier who frequently finds himself in trouble with either the law or the gang he hangs out with. Then there’s Cameron, who’s caught between falling in love with his roommate/boyfriend, X, and yearning for his old flame, Tony, who has recently made it back to town. Finally, Nico is one of the only traditionally successful people with a good job working as a banker. He and his boyfriend, Ray, have big plans to start flipping houses and selling them, all in an effort to make a better life for themselves. But when an old friend comes to Nico, begging for help, he suddenly gets caught up in the streets. Despite the extra cash flow he questions if money over morals is always a good thing.

Their lives are “enhanced not defined” by their sexuality and overall this proves to be true. Despite including many kisses and sex scenes between the men, the show never explicitly talks about their sexuality or refers to them as being gay men.
