Golden Age Games
This year marks the 20th year for the MHCA
Golden Age Games, which will take place at the SBU
Meyer Auditorium on Friday, Oct.16 at 10 a.m.
Colonial Spring’s theme for this year will be The
Polar Express. Residents, staff and volunteers will
all be wearing our flannel pajamas as we milk cows,
kick soccer balls, toss basketballs and call home
the hogs. If you look closely, you may even see Ole’
Saint Nick there.
The Golden Age Games is a fun-filled day of
special events. Residents from all over MHCA
District IV gather to compete for prizes and special
awards. This year MHCA will be giving out two separate $250 gift cards to the facility with the highest
score and the team with the most spirit.
Colonial Springs has done well at the games
these past few years and this year we hope to do
even better. If you would like to dress up and help
cheer us on, contact Lori or Lisa in the Activities
Department.
Candy Needed
Every Halloween, for the past several
years, the residents have enjoyed passing out candy to the children of Dallas
County.
On Saturday, Oct. 31, we once again
plan on hosting this annual event, but in
order for this to be successful, we need
the help of our families and friends. We
are asking that each family member
donate a bag or two of candy for your
mother or father for Halloween night.
Last year, we had more than 30
residents passing out treats, and ran out
within the first hour.
If you would like to help out, bring
your bagged candy to Patrice Melton,
activity director. We really appreciate
your help!
Trick-or-Treating
Colonial Springs Healthcare
Center will be open to all Trick-orTreaters from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. on
Halloween night.
The residents will be wearing
their Halloween costumes and will
be ready to provide the children
with an abundant supply of both
tricks and treats.
The residents really enjoy watching the children parade through the
facility in their adorable, and
sometimes scary, costumes.

went fishing at Benny’s pond. All in all we
caught 15 blue gill. What a treat!
Come out and join in on the fun!
