Father’s Day Classic Car Drive By Parade At this printing time, we are still up in the air about when our home will open up to the public. We are hoping for the middle of June. We are planning a Father’s Day Classic Car Drive By Parade and will be doing this on Saturday, June 20 at 10 a.m. Following our parade our dads will come back inside and have donuts and coffee to celebrate their special day. If families are able to visit, you can come join us as well. All of our father’s family members are encouraged to participate in this event. You do not have to have a classic car to participate. If you are planning on coming, please call our front office at 417-345-2228 to ensure your father is outside. Flag Day Flag Day is a yearly celebration of honoring the American flag. Our flag has seen many changes and has flown all over the world. We are proud of our flag and what it represents to us and our fellow Americans. Flag Day is Sunday, June 14 so we will celebrate with a variety of activities throughout the next week and finalizing with a flag ceremony on the 17th. We will all join in and show off what our flag and country are made of. “You’re a Grand Ole Flag, You’re a high flying flag, And forever in peace may you wave…” Valkommen to Summer…. This month we are going to take a little trip to the Land of the Midnight Sun, the country of Sweden to help them celebrate the Midsummer Festival which occurs each year on June 24. Have you ever been to Sweden? The closest we have gotten is eating Swedish meatballs and the candy Swedish fish. So, we are going to research the country and its festivities by playing their games, trying out some of their delicious foods, making a few of their crafty items and discuss the Festival of the Flowers. We are also going on a virtual journey to Sweden with the Front Porch Travelers. (above) - Ed reaches as high as he can to choose the winning lollipop during the Lollipop Tree Game.
