Father’s Day Luncheon
What is one thing that men like to do after
they catch that big ole’ fish? Well of course it
is to fry it. We will be honoring all of our
fathers with a special fish fry just for them on
Saturday, June 16, at 11:30 a.m. on the back
patio.
All families are welcome to share this
special time with their father and
grandfather.
Come on out and enjoy listening to that
story about how they caught that biggest fish
while spending some quality time with dad
and grandpa.
RSVP with our front office by Thursday,
June 14, at 417-345-2228 to reserve a seat.
Springfield Cardinal Baseball
Did I hear you wanted to go to a baseball game?
Well, here is your chance.
We will be making our annual trek to Springfield to
watch the Cardinals on Monday, June 11 at 9:30 a.m.
They will take on the Tulsa Drillers. I am sure it will be
a great match up.
Tickets and lunch will be provided by the activity
department.
If you would like to go, contact Patrice Melton,
activity director to reserve your seat. Make sure you
make early reservations because we only have limited
seating available.
Wear your Cardinal shirts and hats so you can
shout, ”Let’s Go Cards!”
A Rose is a Rose is a Rose
June is National Rose Month. We also
celebrate National Garden Week, World Red
Rose Day and Paper Roses Day this month. So
we will be honoring this fragrant flower two
separate weeks, June 4 - 8 and June 25 - 29.
Roses are a very popular item in many
gardens. They come in a variety of colors and
sizes. Every year it seems like a new variety is
created. Some of the activities that we have
scheduled are to make rose pendants, dis-
cuss the benefits of aromatherapy with roses,
experiment on how to make a roses last long-
er, name “that rose tune,” and learn more
about this precious flower through trivia.

activities.
June 14 is Flag Day across the United States. Our flag has been around since 1776 and it
represents the heart and soul of all Americans both living and deceased. It is a symbol of our
freedom and the dedication of our veterans and active service people.
Flag Day cannot be celebrated in one day, so we are expanding it into an entire week. We will be
honoring our flag with its history, a discussion on “The Grand Ole’ Flag,” flag crafts and trivia. On
Thursday, we will have our own flag ceremony complete with the folding of the
American flag and what each step resembles.
We all need to honor our flag because it resembles the freedom that we all stand for. Watch our
weekly article or check out our Facebook page to find out our schedule for each activity.
