It’s a Winter Wonderland Week Let the snow fly—we don’t care because we will be having an “It’s a Winter Wonderland Week” Jan. 20 - 24. All week long our activities will revolve around winter and snow. We will be visiting the North Pole, create a wintry dish, make a sock snowman, play a few snowman games and toss a few snowballs. You never know what kind of trouble we can find on those cold, wintry January days. Come on out and join in on the fun. Watch the daily Chatter Box for an updated schedule of our “It’s a Winter Wonderland Week.” (left) - Nora celebrated her 100th birthday last month. She was joined by her family and friends to honor her for her life’s accomplishment. Congratulations, Nora! Whooping It Up In Texas… Travel with us this month down to Texas. It’s really not that far away, but I bet it is a little warmer. We will be spending two weeks learning all about Texas and we will find out why they say things are always bigger there. We are going to sing some Texas songs, make a bolo, learn all about cattle rustling and rodeos, we are going to learn how to lasso, make some good ole’ Texas foods and to finish off the fun, we will have a Ole’ Fashioned Texas Hoe Down Party. These are only a few of the many activities that we have planned. So put on those cowboy boots and Stetson hats while we venture south to learn all about a “real” cowboy. Chinese New Year Are you a rat? It sounds strange that I ask you that, but Jan. 25 marks the beginning of the Chinese New Year, and 2020 is the year of the rat. Just like we have zodiac signs according to when we are born, the Chinese have their own calendar, but it related to the year you were born, and what animal categorizes you. Those born in 1912, 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1884, 1996, 2008 and 2020 are born under the rat which is witty, clever, charming, sharp, funny, generous, loyal, curious, money conscious and wel- comes challenges. If you would like to find out more join us for a variety of fun activities and find out which animal you are characterized by. Thank you… We would like to personally thank everyone who helped make this past Christmas season a very enjoyable one for all of our residents, especially the staff, families, churches and voluntary organizations who donated presents to our facility. We are very fortunate to have such giving people in our community. We are very grateful for what you have done. The residents really appreciate your support. Thanks again—Patrice, Lisa and Amber (left) - Our ladies and gentlemen enjoyed ole’ time and Christmas songs played by Tim Mock. Tim entertains us every month with his rendition of gospel and country songs.
