Thank you
We would like to personally thank everyone
who helped make this past Christmas season a
very enjoyable one for all of our residents,
especially the staff, families, churches, and
voluntary organizations who donated presents to
our facility.
We are very fortunate to have such giving
people in our community. We are very grateful for
what you have done. The residents really
appreciate your support.
Thanks again - Patrice, Lisa and Katey.
Winter Wonderland Week
Let the snow fly. We don’t care, because we
will be having a Winter Wonderland Week
Jan. 7 - 13. All week long our activities will
revolve around winter and snow. We will be
visiting the North Pole, creating a wintry dish, hav-
ing a winter tea party, making a snowman light,
making our own everlasting snowflake, and toss-
ing a few snowballs. You never know what kind of
trouble we can find on those cold, wintry January
days.
Come on out and join in on the fun. Watch the
daily Chatter Box for an updated schedule of our
Winter Wonderland Week.
Totally Awesome Month
(above) - Yes, men can cook! Chancey helped
make cupcakes for last month’s craft show.
Bowl Me Over
With all of the bowl games happening this
month, we are going to set aside a week to honor
the game of football.
I am sure all of our guys will like this. We will
play some football, discuss some football trivia,
talk about the ole’ days of football, play a game
of dice bowling, and hold our monthly men’s
group where we will eat some pigskins and talk
about our favorite teams.
All of these
activities will occur the
week of Jan. 22. So
come on out guys and
have some fun.
January is Reminiscence Month, so we are
stepping back in time to the exciting 1980s.
The 1980s was an exciting decade that saw
many television innovations and changes in
programming. We saw new shows, such as
Family Ties, Magnum PI, and Golden Girls. We
also saw 24 hour radio broadcasts and kids
programs such as Nickelodeon was added as
well.
Not only did television become more popu-
lar, but fast food expanded with Wendy’s and
Burger King.
New clothing styles such as white jackets,
double breasted blazers, pastel colors, and re-
laxed pants became popular, and Michael
Jackson, Steve Miller Band, and Olivia Newton
John entertained the music world.
We will be exploring more about the 1980s
during this “cool” month of January. Watch
your calendars for special activities.
