Vacation Bible School Dog Days of Summer… Every year, local churches sponsor Vacation Bible Schools for children to attend. For the past several years we have had our very own Vacation Bible School program but gear it toward adults. This year’s theme is titled “Big Heart Farms: Where God’s Fruit Grows.” We will be reviewing Galatians 5:16-26 which covers the fruits of the Spirit. These include love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. We will not only have daily discussions but we will make crafts, sing songs, and have snacks just like real Vacation Bible School sessions. If you would like to join us in finding our way with the Lord, we will conduct our VBS from Aug. 19 - 23. Check our calendar for times of each activity. We have survived the very hottest part of the summer so far, so why not celebrate with “The Dog Days Of Summer?” Even though it might be hot outside, let’s keep it cool inside by making some puppy chow, making dog biscuits for our local dog kennel, hosting a dog show and much, much more. You never know, we might dress up like dogs and play “Dog Themed Bingo.” At the end of the week, we will really cool off with some watermelon and sing some dog themed songs. Do you remember, “How Much is that Doggy in the Window?” Snaptique… Snaptique, which is a snap-based jewel- ry business and a boutique all rolled into one shopping opportunity, will be here on Thursday and Friday, Aug. 1 and 2 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Jennifer has a beautiful line of necklaces, bracelets, and name tags where one can interchange designed snaps to meet your style of the day. She also brings beautiful clothes which the staff usually buys out within minutes. Jennifer donates a percentage from her event to the Resident Activity fund. Come on out and see what Snaptique has to offer. It’s Berry Pickin’ Time... A Week at the Fair (left) - Grace enjoys cooling off to some chocolate ice cream from Mr. Ed’s. Many towns host their own local and state fairs throughout the summer months. Since we are unable to attend these, we thought about hosting our own fair. The Colonial Springs fair will begin on Monday, Aug. 12 through Friday, Aug. 16. Throughout the week we will have a variety of activities that will include carnival games, bingo, special fair foods, musical entertainment, and maybe even a few animals for our ladies and gentlemen to pet. What’s a fair without animals?
