Every decade has its stars — the anointed few who somehow capture the zeitgeist of a specific moment in time and end up defining a generation . A star at his peak , actor Michael B . Jordan isn ’ t taking his moment in the spotlight for granted . From his start as a child model for Toys “ R ” Us to starring on the big screen , Jordan has parlayed each of his roles into something bigger and better .

While his first big action hero turn in Fantastic Four was a bust , Jordan stayed the course and would go on to earn a role that would jumpstart his career . Playing Donnie Creed , the son of boxer Apollo Creed in the seventh Rocky film , Jordan transformed his body for the role . The movie was a career catalyst and led to starring parts in the Black Panther , No Remorse , and Creed II . Now Jordan is taking on his directorial debut with Creed III . We check in with Jordan on page 24 to find out what ’ s next and to get the details on a new project where he ’ ll be featured as the black version of Superman .
