The Mexican architect Tatiana Bilbao is currently leading a one-of-a-kind
project for this site. The continuous research for knowledge and investiga-
tion will become the unifying element of the space. The relation between
investigation, exhibition and creation changes, blurring the limits of each
space and creating new connections between them.
In the previous model for the 20th century museum, the program was be-
ing segmented and its activities were disassociated and differentiated from
each other in view of the fact that its main purpose was intended for ex-
hibition. In the 21st century museum, the leading activities are articulated
within a unifying element. Investigation, exhibition and creation are funda-
mental features with an equal relevance from its core. All its procedures
happen within a limitless space or segmented physical boundaries, creat-
ing a route that is continuous, flexible, free and adjustable.
