ESTABLISHING A VCPR
The veterinarian-client-patient relationship ( VCPR ) supports the public ’ s access to safe , quality animal care . As the foundation of clinical veterinary medicine , the VCPR supports veterinarians in delivering effective animal care !
In establishing a VCPR , the veterinarian and the client have a conversation which includes :
• what services the client is seeking
• what services the veterinarian is willing to provide
• after-hours care provisions
• whether the client has current VCPRs with other veterinarians & what scope of service they cover
• any requirements for maintaining the VCPR
A new learning module is available to assist you with understanding how to effectively establish a VCPR . Through the module , you can further your understanding of the veterinarian ’ s role and responsibilities in establishing a VCPR , the client ’ s responsibilities , and tools for effective VCPR conversations .
The new learning module joins a video and a checklist to support veterinarian with the VCPR . Check them out ! cvo . org / VCPR
