College honours Past Presidents
Veterinary medicine is one of the oldest regulated professions in Ontario and in Canada. The veterinary profession has been entrusted with regulating the medical care of animals since 1877 first as the Ontario Veterinary Association and then as the College of Veterinarians of Ontario.
In June, the College celebrated its remarkable history with a Presidents’
Luncheon. Seventeen Past Presidents joined current and former Council members and representatives of partner organizations to reflect on the profession’ s rich and progressive history in serving people and their animals for nearly 150 years.
It’ s a historic time as we move towards the College of Veterinary Professionals of Ontario.
By-laws: At its June 4 meeting, the Transition Council discussed feedback gathered during the bylaws consultation held earlier this year. The Transition Council will finalize the by-laws for the College of Veterinary Professionals of Ontario at a future meeting.
