Dr. Mathew Allossery
As a result of a professional misconduct hearing, the member’ s licence was suspended for six months. The issues in the case focused on the member’ s conduct in handling a horse that was sedated for a dental procedure. The panel found further concerns relating to a breach of confidentiality in sharing confidential information on social media.
The remediation in the penalty includes courses in anger and stress management, equine restraint and behaviour, including chemical restraint for dental procedures; and client confidentiality / professional social media usage in line with College expectations. The member’ s practice will also be monitored post-suspension. As well, the member must pay costs to the College of $ 103,698.38.
Dr. Kevin Iran-Manesh
As a result of a professional misconduct hearing, the member’ s licence was suspended for two months. The issues in the case focused on the member misdiagnosing a puppy with hip dysplasia and bone fractures. Other concerns included the member’ s medical records which indicated a lack of knowledge about radiographic interpretation, forming differential diagnoses, and case management.
The remediation in the penalty includes the PROBE ethics course, a medical record-keeping course, a one-day mentorship focused on ethical conduct, an essay summarizing learnings from the mentorship, a follow-up evaluation, and a medical records review. As well, the member must pay costs to the College of $ 5,000.
Dr. Edwin Butterworth
As a result of a professional misconduct hearing, the member signed an undertaking to resign his licence and not apply for a licence in Ontario or elsewhere.
