PROFESSIONALISM IS ONE OF FIVE PILLARS IN COLLEGE’ S STRATEGIC PLAN
The College’ s new strategic plan, Strategy 2020, includes a focus on professionalism.
including the health and resilience of veterinarians.
This increased focus on professionalism will be guided by input from veterinarians and stakeholders. Council is specifically supporting initiatives which focus on professionalism and self-regulation. This will include areas such as ethics, quality assurance, and quality improvement and continued efforts to assist veterinarians in incorporating these into daily practice.

The College now offers podcasts to provide information to the public and licensed members. The podcasts are audio files which present information on various policies and programs.

Managing Controlled Substances in Your Practice- College Registrar and Chief Executive Officer Jan Robinson and Practice Advisor Dr. Susan Sabatini provide information on veterinarians’ responsibilities regarding controlled substances.
Advertising- Associate Registrar Shilo Tooze and Dr. Sabatini discuss professionalism in advertising by veterinarians, including use of testimonials and social media.
The Peer Advisory Conversation- The Registrar and Associate Registrar Dr. Kim Lambert discuss the pilot phase of the program.
Over the next three years, the College will be adding resources and supports to assist veterinarians in achieving professionalism that promotes public protection.
The College looks forward to continued collaboration with veterinarians in identifying issues of professionalism and the regulation of veterinary medicine that require leadership and public attention.
