Can it be learned?
We can learn cultural humility, but the answer is complicated. The concepts can be introduced and taught. Still, it is up to the individual to engage in self-reflection and personal growth. Suggestions to nurture cultural humility:
1. Education and training: Workshops, seminars, and courses on cultural humility, unconscious bias, anti-racism, equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility can provide foundational knowledge.
2. Building authentic connections: Opportunities for authentic cultural interactions and exchanges can be achieved through travelling, community service, and participating in cultural events.
3. Mentorship & role models: Choose mentors who exemplify cultural humility to guide you.
4. Read, listen, watch, and learn: Build your cultural competency
