diagnoses the cat with fleas . The client has indicated there are other cats in the household who have not seen a veterinarian . The veterinarian may sell additional doses of Advantage to the client to be used on the other cats following the expectations in the Policy Statement . They make a written entry of this transaction , noting the client ’ s name , the identification of the animal ( s ), the product sold , the name of the individual who sold the product , and the date of sale .

Scenario two :

A client informs a clinic staff member they are seeking a calcium supplement for their dairy cows . Staff are trained in the non-drug veterinary products available in the clinic to allow them to help clients with an existing VCPR . After discussion , the staff member sells the client an oral calcium supplement . The staff member makes a written record of this transaction , noting the client ’ s name , the identification of the animal ( s ), the product sold , the name of the sales person , and the sale date .
