One of his former players, Cameron Gann was selected in the 27th round by the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Before joining the staff at SFA, Martino served on the baseball coaching staff at his alma mater and fellow American Southwest Conference rival, East Texas Baptist as well as in the high school ranks at Marshall High School and Gary High School.
While with the Tigers as a student-athlete, they reached the ASC Tournament during his junior season and was a four-year letterwinner.
Martino is originally from Marshall and earned his bachelor’s degree from ETBU in kinesiology and working on his master’s degree from SFA in human performance.
Martino and his wife, Natalie and 5 month old Bauer live in Nagadohes, TX.
