GRATEFUL GUITARS
That feedback loop now defines how Grateful Guitars operates. When the foundation places a world-class instrument with a working musician, it often pairs the gift with a $ 5,000 donation to a regional music education nonprofit, each gift an investment in both the player and the tradition they represent.
The players connected to the foundation span the full range of the scene. Names like Oteil Burbridge, Steve Kimock, John Kadlecik, Jeff Mattson, Rob Eaton, Skip Vangelas, Stu Allen, Garrett Deloian, Mik Bondy, Rick Mitarotonda, Alex Jordan, Bella Rayne, Jake Brownstein, Josh Olken, Dave Hebert, Matt Hartle, Josh Rosen, and Zach Nugent appear alongside others who move between festival stages and smaller rooms where the music lives week to week. Even figures like Warren Haynes surface in that orbit. Grateful Guitars has also gifted other instruments and gear, such as to keyboardists Danny Eisenberg, Dylan Tiefer, Scott Guberman, Dave Hebert of Steely Dead, and a bass rig for Bertha’ s bassist, Jacob Groopman.
