Fraternization
The
Shining
Ones
spied
them
while
taxiing
miners
From
the
mothership
to
the
surface
During
their
mission
for
gold,
Ambling
to
the
river,
a
giggle
of
gazelles,
Bronze
legs
criss-‐crossing
on
stepping
stones,
Hair
glistening
when
they
kneeled
to
comb
Each
others’
soft
tresses
at
the
rockpool,
Saris
billowing
at
midriffs
when
they
rolled
them
down
So
that
breasts
hung
promisingly
as
Indian
summer
apples.
The
Pleiadians
would
hover
their
craft
in
awe,
sending
out
Rippling
circles
across
the
water,
lips
moistening
With
months
of
tour-‐of-‐duty
barrack
confinement
At
this
blue
place
so
far
from
the
Seven
Sisters.
The
Earthwomen
frowned
at
first,
snatched
at
their
frocks,
Huddling
together
beneath
hot,
pulsing
downdraughts.
But
as
curious
glances
met
curious
glances,
One
hand
rose
to
acknowledge
a
wave,
Held
gazes
met
burgeoning
smiles,
Eyes
began
twinkling
like
stars.
Regulations
were
forgotten,
Throttles
eased,
so
that
alien
chariots
Touched
down
as
gently
as
a
lover’s
caress
On
whisper-‐disturbed
grass.
