*Each
English
verse
is
my
interpretation
of
the
classic
Sanskrit
verse
that
follows.
These
themselves
are
pleasingly
onomatopoeic:
in
the
first,
you
hear
the
raindrops
hit
the
flower;
in
the
second
you
hear
the
bowl
smash;
in
the
third
and
fourth
you
feel
the
light
shimmer
or
glitter;
in
the
fourth
you
hear
hissing
of
the
"snake."
