W
hen it comes to shipping large
volumes of perishables between
continents, refrigerated marine
containers, commonly called ‘reefers’,
provide temperature and humidity control
at affordable pricing. This allows everything
from meat, fruit, vegetables, dairy products,
cut flowers and pharmaceuticals to travel
across the world at optimum conditions for
the duration of its transportation.
Reefer transport is vital to many
companies who need to transport
perishable products over a long
distance. Reliable containers and good
management are essential to ensure that
the client’s products arrive on time and as
perfect as when the container was packed.
Reefer cargo is very closely monitored,
and for good reason. No one enjoys
food that is not fresh and tasty. The key
to keeping perishables fresh as long
as possible, is the temperature and
environment in which the product is
transported. The slightest miscalculation
in temperature control can cost a shipper
thousands of Rands. This is only one of many
requirements. T
