BITZER SA celebrates 30-year anniversary with beer festival

On 15 September , BITZER South Africa , a wholly owned subsidiary of BITZER , with its headquarters in Germany and a well-known name in the HVAC & R industry , marked its 30th anniversary .
In July 1993 when BITZER Kühlmaschinenbau ( South Africa ) started trading after Peter Schaufler and Theo van Driel signed an agreement , the industry watched keenly as to the time a dedicated supplier of compressors would survive in South Africa .
Until then , the imported brands of compressors were distributed on an agency basis by different wholesalers and some contractors . In September , Josë Marques joined the new company as technical sales representative in Johannesburg . The 30th anniversary held at the Royal Cape Yacht Club in Cape Town on 15 September 2023 , also celebrated 30 years of unbroken service by Marques .
