OTTC’ s artisanal roundtable connects students
The Open Trade Training Centre( OTTC) in Springs had its second Stammtisch event on 15 March 2018 to celebrate its students and“ to get the family back together”, as OTTC director Isolde Döbelin puts it.

So, what exactly is a Stammtisch? A Stammtisch is a German word that refers not to a structured meeting but rather a friendly get-together and meeting of the minds.“ It is always good for trade professionals and even those who are just keen to learn, to come together and share experiences and challenges,” explains Isabel Grobler of OTTC.“ It is comforting to know that there is not one among us who has all the answers, but by counting everyone together, we might get pretty close to knowing more.”
“ With 26 years of training behind OTTC and a vast community of OTTC students, the Stammtisch is a great way of getting the family back together and reconnecting,” adds Döbelin. That is about the most serious part of a Stammtisch; otherwise there is always good German food to ease the conversation and loosen one’ s jaw.

EXCITING PROJECTS
OTTC will of course never pass up on the opportunity to show off its students and their accomplishments.
Two of OTTC’ s Technical Diploma graduates( Lionald Wooldridge of Energy Partners and Ian Maritz of Cubicool) had recently completed the successful commissioning of their own R134a / CO 2 cascade plant. The R134a / CO 2 cascade plant can in principle be used for low evaporation temperatures in commercial refrigeration applications. The project
