Keep yourself up to date and check out Proklima’s free resources on topics such as natural refrigerants. “It’s important to have greater variety in terms of skills and competencies to successfully process the variety of challenges that we face in the HVAC&R industry,” says Marius la Grange, South African Institute of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (SAIRAC) president. With one of those changes being the move towards ‘greener’ alternatives when it comes to refrigerants, we need a great deal of research on making sense of all the factors and variables to consider. “South Africa is not unique in this regard, with Europe having started many of the trends that await our industry,” says La Grange. CLA Carel appoints new group managing director T he Carel board of directors appointed Giandomenico Lombello, currently group sales and marketing director, as the new managing director, replacing Francesco Nalini, who will continue to maintain his role as Carel’s CEO. The managing director will report directly to the CEO, to whom he is hierarchically and functionally subordinate, and will play a general role in the direction, management, and coordination of corporate operational process activities and functions. The appointment aims at strengthening the administrative structure of the group, at guaranteeing lasting support for the management of the business, and strong protection for operational processes in a period of high growth for Carel. “It is a great honour for me to accept this new role and to assist Francesco Nalini in the transition to the near future,” Lombello comments. “I hope to meet the expectations of the board of directors and to interpret this role in the best possible way. My goals are very clear, and concern investors, customers, and all Carel employees”.
